Meet Sam "JustCasual" Han Jr.

Sam Han Jr. is the Multimedia Producer for Evil Geniuses an Esports organization. Before gaming, Sam was an engineer. Sam gives amazing insights in this full interview. Be sure to give it a listen above. As always, we will try to package up his knowledge with our episode breakdown!

Introducing Sam:

  • Sam spent 5.5 years obtaining a degree in Engineering

  • He worked for an Oil and Gas company

  • While he was working, he spent his time watching Twitch streams (with his boss right behind him)

  • All of his focus was on getting home to play League of Legends, but also to focus on his side project: a podcast

  • Sam ran his own League of Legends Podcast called "League of Legends Anonymous" for 3 years before breaking into the gaming industry.

Q: What was your first gig in the space?

I started as an Esports marketing analyst, which pretty much meant I edited like Twitter memes, like on their social channel. The first year I was there I tripled or quadrupled their social media  views and impressions. I built out structures with freelancers to increase output. I led our first sold out merge launch and ran the media day that was associated with the Golden Warriors rebrand.  Which I think got over a million impressions on social. We had a great team and awesome people there, and I worked really hard to make an impact because I was a fan and I wanted to make Esports better in whatever way I could. I worked there for about two and a half years, almost three years. Then I moved to Seattle to start working at Evil Geniuses.
